Meet My Ashlee

My Ashlee
The Lovable Chihuahua with attitude

Hi y'all!  I'm Southern Step
I wanted to introduce you to Ashlee, my little side-kick.  Since I do post
her picture a lot and she stays right by my side no matter what I'm doing
I thought it was only proper.  I'm sure many of the future blogs I write will even
be inspired by her.  Her personality stands out way more than the little white swatch of fur on her forehead.  She's a little bi-polar sometimes.  I'm her person and she's quite
protective of me.  That's the way with her breed though, they usually choose
one person in the world to love and everyone else can just buzz off..... After all, they are the potential enemy ya know?  She completely believes that I am her pet and she owns me rather than the other way around.  She's probably right! lol
She's a little compulsive too.....she absolutely always has to give her inspection and sniff of approval of whatever blanket or throw that I might toss over myself and she feels that she MUST roll up into the bottom of it near my feet and keep the toes company while I work at the computer.  Sometimes she will roll until she pulls the blanket off of me completely  and then hog it all for herself.
She despises vacuum cleaners and brooms.  She's convinced they are alive and a direct threat to me and her food supply.  If I sweep anywhere near her food dish she is quick to attack it with extreme prejudice.  She doesn't play that.  She works herself up quite a tither with the vacuum and fiercely goes to into a serious battle with it until she has snapped and barked the loud sounding monster somethingorother thing to a quiet defeat.  After all that tiresome battle of protecting her human pet, her food and her domain she must then go nap a while in preparation for the next battle she is faced with.
My son has a Great Dane named Draco that he brings to visit sometimes and Ashlee meets him eye to eye (actually her eye/his paw) intimidating him down to a cower with just a glimpse of her stink eye.  He refuses to walk past her.....he runs.
As much attitude as this little dog has, she has even more of a sweet side full of love and affection and loves nothing more than to snuggle with me.  She is a precious companion and her adventures always keep me smiling!
